Here is a simple test I found.  I’m not sure how accurate it is but it is fun to think about. Look around at the site. There were a few other interesting tests like the Stress Test.

Here’s the test…

What would you do if you were in a situation where:

  1. The baby is crying.
  2. The clothes are hanging outside and it has started to rain.
  3. The water is running from the tap.
  4. The doorbell is ringing.
  5. The phone is ringing.

Think about what you will do first, then second and so on. Scroll down to see the explanation.

Each action reflects the priorities that you have set in your life. Take a look at the following table to see which priority corresponds to which action.

Action Priority
Attend the phone Career and job
See who is at the door Friends and relatives
Pick up the clothes Sex
Attend the baby Family
Switch the tap off Wealth

If I were in such a situation where 5 things happened at once I would get a huge surge of adrenaline and go into hyper-action mode.  Let’s see I would probably turn the water off because that is quick and easy.  I would then get the baby, see who is at the door and maybe never get the clothes or answer the phone.  If it was important they’ll leave a message or call back and the clothes would dry eventually.  Now, if I need the clothes dry right away for something they might be the third thing I go for.

According to this test my priorities are Wealth, Family, Friends and relatives, Sex then Career.  What are your priorities?  I’d say the way I spend my time and energy the priorities would be Career, Family, Wealth, Sex, Friends and relatives.  Interesting to think about.
